The two prefectures linking Honshu with Kyushu, this was my last time seeing the island that has been my home for the last 2+ years.
Still a few cherry blossoms hanging around, among other things (or at least I think they are!)
Assaulting Kitakyushu castle
I’m not the only one who likes butabara yakiniku
This bridge is the link between Kyushu and Honshu. This would be the last time I see Kyushu for some time. Goodbye and thanks for all the ramen!
Statues on Ganryu Island, where two Samurai battled to determine who had “it”. Musashi, on the right with a wooden sword, won using the sun to blind his foe. Good move.
Miranda made a new, much more plush and technically advanced friend. I still love her more though.
Yamaguchi five-story Pagoda. It would honestly be hard to find a nice setting.
Built in 1442, this is one of the (surprisingly) few structures in Japan that has survived so long. Really rather beautiful.
But not beautiful enough to be ruined by a photobomb.
The first 1000 kms done.
The first of many clothed statues that I have seen on my trip.
A very nice drive to Yamaguchi, when off the highway at least.
